Adam Idah returned to Celtic this summer.
The Republic of Ireland international enjoyed a fruitful six-month loan spell at Celtic from Norwich City last season.
The standout moment was Idah’s winning goal against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final and he will want to repeat that feat on Sunday.
Celtic and Rangers meet at Hampden for the League Cup final as the first piece of silverware is on offer in Scotland.
Brendan Rodgers has some big calls to make regarding who he starts against Rangers, with the expectation that derby day king Kyogo Furuhashi will start instead of Idah.
Adam Idah says he ‘wasn’t too pleased’ with how he started the season for Celtic
Celtic’s bench strength has been one of the biggest reasons why the team has remained unbeaten on the domestic stage this season.
Everywhere you look, players are thriving left, right and centre, including ready to start, but sometimes not everything looks as well as it is made out.
Idah proved that by admitting that he ‘wasn’t pleased’ with how he started the campaign, but he is now ‘excited’ about the final against Rangers, as he told Celtic TV.

“At the start of the season, I probably wasn’t too pleased with myself, coming in I had a tough pre-season,” said Idah.
“With goals, I probably wasn’t scoring as much as I would have liked to, but when I reflected back only a couple of weeks ago and I saw my stats, what I done, then it’s probably better than what I thought it was.
“What’s motivating me now is to just keep getting on the scoresheet. Things like these cup finals. I want to get to these cup finals. To win the European nights is always amazing, so there are so many things that motivate me and these players who want to strive to be the best. It’s all exciting and looking forward to it.”
Idah’s stats for Celtic
Celtic made the right call to bring back Idah this summer and he has made a positive start, especially given his lack of regular starts, so he shouldn’t be too hard on himself.
The Irishman has made five starts in all competitions, but he has still bagged himself eight goals.
Idah will be hoping that he adds to that tally once more and another winner against Rangers is on the horizon because he is capable of it.
