Celtic fans could be heard loud and proud in the Allianz Arena as the Bhoys took on Bayern Munich.

The larger travelling Celtic support could be heard singing for the whole 90 minutes as the Bhoys battled Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

When Nicolas Kuhn put Celtic 1-0 up, there was a possibility that the fans’ European dream of progressing to the last 16 of UEFA’s top competition was about to become a reality.

Not many people had given Brendan Rodgers’ side a hope of pulling off a result in Munich and as the game wore on and Celtic matched Bayern, Alan Shearer shared how he witnessed the mood of the crowd change.

Celtic took ‘the fizz’ out of the Bayern Munich fans

Celtic could, nad probably should have had a healthy lead going into the halftime break against Bayern and as the Hoops showed that they were no pushovers, Shearer shared what he sensed from the German crowd.

Shearer told Amazon Sports Prime, “It’s certainly not as noisy in this stadium as it was after two or three minutes, and that’s because of the job that Celtic are doing.

“Quieten the crowd, taking the fizz out the performance from being under pressure point of view and then putting all of that onto Bayern Munich in the way they’re playing.”

Alan Shearer said Celtic ‘don’t deserve’ Champions League heartache

Shearer was gutted for Celtic as Alphonso Davies poked home that late equaliser for Bayern Munich as the former England international said the last-minute goal was ‘agony’ for the Parkhead club.

Shearer said, “Agony for Celtic. It goes into the back of the net. They don’t deserve it. They don’t deserve the hurt Celtic.

“You talk about leaving it late and heartbreak for Celtic. I know they have created a few chances this evening without playing anywhere near what they can play, Bayern Munich.

“But, when you leave it that late, the hurt and the pain for Celtic and their fans, you can feel it and for Brendan Rodgers. He can be very, very proud of his players.
