Alan Thompson sends message to ‘bitter’ Rangers after their full-time Celtic Park antics

Celtic hero Alan Thompson has sent a message to Rangers after what he saw them do at full-time at Celtic Park.

Celtic lost to Rangers after a late Hamza Igamane goal cancelled out a brilliant fightback after Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate drew the Hoops level from 2-0 down.

When it looked like Celtic might go on and win the match, Igamane’s strike inflicted the third defeat of Brendan Rodgers’ season so far.

However, it was what Rangers did at full-time at Celtic Park that has been called out by Hoops hero Alan Thompson as he branded the Ibrox club ‘bitter’ over their victory.

Alan Thompson brands Rangers’ Celtic Park celebrations ’embarrassing’

Taking to social media, Thompson, who helped Celtic reach the 2003 UEFA Cup final, congratulated Rangers on their win but told them their celebrations were ’embarrassing’.

Thompson said on X, “Don’t be bitter!

“Well done to Rangers today on your three points and your celebrations after the game were slightly embarrassing considering your 13 points off the pace.

“Correct me if I’m wrong?”

Rangers’ Celtic Park celebrations prove how much the Bhoys success has broken the Ibrox club

Not many fans will have an issue with Rangers celebrating like they did. If anything, those celebrations prove just how much Celtic’s trophy success has broken the Ibrox club.

With Celtic on the brink of a world-record ninth domestic treble, one league defeat does not matter in the grand scheme of things.

However, many fans will be, and quite rightly, concerned at Celtic’s last three performances against Rangers after conceding nine goals against the Ibrox club.

That needs to be addressed if Rodgers wants to keep Rangers firmly under Celtic’s boot and the Ibrox Glasgow Derby is a game where he can make amends with a big away win.
