Celtic heroes far and wide will have been delighted by the Bhoys’ 3-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig in midweek.
While Victor Wanyama and John Hartson were among those in attendance at Parkhead, plenty of congratulations also poured in from elsewhere after the Bhoys’ statement victory.
Post-match, Chris Sutton had a message for Celtic’s critics after they defeated Leipzig, stating: “We have not heard from those people putting the boot into Celtic and Scottish football after Dortmund…”

Nicolas Kuhn and Reo Hatate helped to hammer home that sentiment, and the Bhoys look like a force to be reckoned with in the Champions League after years of hard luck stories.
Now, Alan Thompson has shared his verdict on the reigning Scottish Premiership champions as they continue to pull up trees in Europe.
Alan Thompson’s class message after Celtic defeat Leipzig
Writing on his official X account during Wednesday night’s Champions League fixtures, Thompson made it clear that although there were some talented teams on show, nobody in action were doing it like Celtic did against Leipzig the previous evening.
He stated: “I’m watching Champions league again tonight and not seen any team play anything like the flowing football along with composure as @celticfc played with last night against @RBLeipzig.”
Maybe the former England international is a little biased like most supporters, but it is really hard to disagree with his point at face value.
Without a doubt, Celtic achieved one of the results of the round against Leipzig and the occasion at Parkhead will rightfully be remembered for years to come.
Celtic’s priority is to finish the job in the Champions League
Although the climate has changed in the Champions League, fans are starting to see small signs of Parkhead becoming a fortress in Europe once again after their victory over Leipzig.
Intriguingly, the Bhoys have now won their last three home matches in the competition, which is the sort of results sequence supporters have been crying out for over recent years.
Next up, a clash on Scottish soil against Club Brugge awaits, offering another opportunity for Celtic to establish their credentials in the league phase.
Young Boys are also due to travel to Glasgow in January, in another bout that will whet the appetite of a fanbase full of optimism as their side look to secure progression.
