Celtic are busy preparing for entry into another tournament this season after a strong start to their Scottish Premiership campaign.
Wins over Kilmarnock and Hibernian have the Bhoys top of the table ahead of Scottish League Cup action at Celtic Park this weekend.
Hibs will again be the opponents for Brendan Rodgers’ side and there’s renewed focus on doing well in this competition after being knocked out so early on last year.
There are no major injury concerns in the build-up to the fixture, though the Celtic boss is keeping an eye on a couple of the players over the next 48 hours.
Celtic fans were curious to learn that neither Alistair Johnston nor Kyogo Furuhashi were at Lennoxtown training on Friday and Rodgers cleared up the situation in a media conference.
Brendan Rodgers on Kyogo and Johnston status
He said when asked about the pair [Celtic FC]: “The general group is okay, we’re just looking at one or two between now and the weekend. Today was a lower-intensity day anyway.
“The players have been really good all week and we just decided for one or two players to do a little bit less today. We’ll have a final look at them tomorrow.
“Alistair Johnston will be fine for Sunday, Kyogo we’ll just have to have a look at him.”

Adam Idah set for another Celtic debut
Kyogo hurt his shoulder at Easter Road on Sunday, which appeared to dislocate as it has done a few times since he arrived at Celtic.
That’s an ongoing issue that won’t rule him out for a long period but the staff are understandably being cautious.
Thankfully, Adam Idah is again in the building to play if needed. The smart money would be on the new big money starting this one and allowing his Japanese teammate to have a rest.
