New Celtic signing Alistair Johnston says he was well aware of Josip Juranovic when the pair locked horns at the World Cup.
Johnston and Juranovic faced off on matchday two in Qatar as Croatia came from behind to thump Canada 4-1.
Earlier today, 67 Hail Hail got the chance to speak to Celtic’s latest recruit, and ask him about the unlikely meeting.

“I was aware,” he told us at Celtic Park. “He was great. He was the one who came up to me after the match.
“Just a really good lad. So that was a pretty cool moment.
“He’s a top player. A really top player. He really impressed me playing against him, and you can just see there’s a reason why he’s been an integral part of this Croatia team that are currently World Cup semi-finalists.
“He’s been one of the top performing players on that team and we struggled against him as a Canadian team.
“I’d love to see him lifting a World Cup. How amazing would that be?”
If Johnston plays half as well as he talks then Celtic will have signed another belter.

The Canadian was a breath of fresh air as he met assembled fan media inside the media room at Celtic Park.
He answered every question in depth, showing immense knowledge of Celtic despite only signing ten days ago.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable session with the new signing.
Let’s hope he can start shining on the pitch from January onwards.
