Alistair Johnston has been a brilliant addition to the Celtic team. Signed by Ange Postecoglou after impressing at the World Cup, the Canadian has not only wowed the fans with his displays on the park, he has captivated their hearts as well.
Johnston speaks so passionately about the club and it is clear to see that he has taken Celtic and the fans close to his heart. The supporters also love the Canadian’s enthusiasm. He is always so positive whenever he appears in any Celtic TV content and it is clear that he is well-liked by his teammates in the Parkhead dressing room.
And this afternoon, the 24-year-old took to Twitter to give himself a little self-appraisal after a trophy-laden start to his Celtic career.
Johnston has been so good since his arrival no one speaks about the player he replaced. Josip Juranovic was another favourite amongst the Celtic fans and the thought of him leaving initially worried the Hoops support.

But that was until we got to witness Johnston first-hand on his Celtic debut against Rangers in the Glasgow Derby. Although it wasn’t an accomplished performance, Johnston still impressed with his aggression and incredible engine that earned Celtic a 2-2 draw.
And the team have looked stronger with him in it. Whenever the Canadian has started, Celtic have never lost a game. And that is backed up in Johnston’s tweet as he poses proudly with the Treble.
For next season though, the big challenge faces Johnston. The Champions League. There is no doubt he will be looking forward to facing some of Europe’s top attackers and I, for one, am looking forward to seeing him test himself at the top table of European football.
