Many people have noted their surprise at the way things have panned out at Dundee this week ahead of their Celtic Park visit.
However, it seems even the players themselves were taken aback by the way James McPake was dismissed and replaced with Mark McGhee, who has a six-match touchline ban to serve.
In fact, attacker Niall McGinn revealed he found out about the news on his television rather than from the club and has been left disappointed McPake has departed.

Dundee visit Celtic on the back of managerial drama
Speaking to PLZ, the former Celtic man said: “If I’m being honest, I was surprised.
“Literally, we had training and I was up the road in Aberdeen just for the night, then I just found out the news on Sky Sports News which was a big shock to me, coming off the back of two good results. But I’ve been around the game enough to know how football works, and how quickly things can change.
“Disappointed, yes. I’ve obviously just come to the club and I’ve just started to build a relationship with James, and that’s all been taken away. I’ve been around long enough to know football and know the game. Here we are with a new manager, and we just have to get on with things.”
Celtic have to stay focused here. It’d be easy to write Dundee off tomorrow but the match could come as a kind of pressure-free relief for them after a tumultuous week.
Absolutely nobody is expecting them to get a result tomorrow, but Celtic have to work hard and ensure they don’t find comfort in a Conference League hangover. 90 minutes on a Sunday after European action pass by quickly.
Ultimately if Celtic work hard and apply themselves a victory should come fairly comfortably. Hopefully, we can capitalise on this unrest and produce a statement victory.
