Celtic have confirmed that Johnny Kenny has signed a new contract with the club.
Kenny, who joined the club from Sligo Rovers in 2021, has grown into the striker role and despite interest from Bolton Wanderers, has committed to a new deal to stay at Celtic Park until 2029.
Last season saw the Republic of Ireland international score his first goal for the club in a brilliant 5-1 win against Aberdeen.
Brendan Rodgers is a huge fan and Kenny admitted that it was the Celtic boss who influenced his decision.

Johnny Kenny reacts to signing new Celtic contract
Speaking to Celtic TV after signing his new contract, Kenny admitted that it was a no-brainer to stay in Glasgow.
“I’m delighted,” he said. “All I wanted to do was commit my future to this club and I’m delighted it’s done now.
“I feel really proud. I spoke to the manager at the start of the summer and it was a case of tying it all together.
“I like to think that I can score goals and the manager believes in me too, so that helps when I’m in and around the box, knowing that the manager backs me.
“I want to achieve everything possible at this club. I want to play Champions League football, win every trophy available and score goals. That’s my aim.”
Brendan Rodgers must give Johnny Kenny a chance to lead the line
Despite all of the noise around Kenny’s future in the summer, tying him down to a new deal suggests that Rodgers is a big believer in him.
Adam Idah started the win against St Mirren but really struggled to make an impact before Kenny replaced him in the second half.
Now that he will be remaining at Celtic Park for the long term, it’s time for the manager put his trust in the youngster and give him a run of games to prove he can be the designated number nine.
