The name of the lesser-known Wilfried Nancy is doing the rounds at Celtic.
Celtic’s search for a new boss is starting to heat up, and it seems as though a shortlist is going to be drawn up sooner rather than later.
Whilst Columbus Crew boss Nancy is taking the headlines right now from stateside, Ally McCoist spoke about another managerial target across Europe.
Bodø/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen is probably a firm favourite amongst the Celtic supporters, and McCoist gave the Norwegian his flowers.

Ally McCoist hails Celtic manager target Kjetil Knutsen
Bodø/Glimt qualified for this season’s Champions League for the first time in their history, and it’s an achievement that has been coming given their growing success under Knutsen since he was appointed coach in 2018.
Speaking on talkSPORT, amid the talk around Nancy, McCoist wanted to highlight the outstanding job Knutsen is doing with Bodø, including the ‘incredible results’ he has been able to muster up in Europe.
“The boy at Bodø/Glimt has been brilliant,” said McCoist. “I don’t know how to pronounce it, Kjetil Knutsen, I think it is. He’s been tremendous.
“They have had some incredible results, particularly at home in Europe.”
Knutsen’s record in Europe with Bodø/Glimt
Celtic fans don’t want to be reminded of it, but Knutsen’s Bodø/Glimt outclassed Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic in the Europa Conference League in 2022 over two legs.
In the very same competition, back in 2021, Knutsen also beat Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma 6-1, as he really started to make a name for himself.
Remember, the last time a team from Norway reached Europe’s elite competition was in 2007/08, so this isn’t a nation that is exactly financially equipped to compete against some of Europe’s best.
