Celtic will be looking to post their first win of the 2025/26 Europa League campaign when Braga visit Glasgow on Thursday evening.
There was supposed to be a silent protest at Celtic Park, but that has been halted because the club are now due to meet frustrated and disgruntled supporters.
Hopefully, that will change the mood around the place, because Celtic should be aiming to finish in the top eight of this Europa League group phase.
But whilst Braga fans are travelling from Portugal to Scotland, Ally McCoist shared an interesting reason why the Hoops fans should be ‘disappointed’ that it’s not the other way around.

Celtic vs Braga in the Europa League
There are some picturesque grounds in the footballing world, and Braga certainly have that in their home – the Estádio Municipal de Braga.
When Celtic’s clash against Braga was discussed on talkSPORT, McCoist, from his experience of visiting north of Portugal, explained what a ‘beautiful’ stadium it is.
Speaking to Alan Brazil, the former Scotland striker added that Celtic fans would have probably preferred that trip given that Braga’s home ground is ‘built into the rock.’
Brazil asked: “What about Celtic tonight at home?”
McCoist joked: “Not interested. Who are you playing?”
Brazil: “I am not telling you who we are playing. You know full well who we are playing. We are playing Braga from Portugal.”
McCoist: “What do you think?”
Brazil: “I think it’s tough. I think we might get a result. But I think it’s going to be a hard game.”
McCoist: “I tell you what I will say to you. You would be disappointed that it’s not away from home. I will tell you why. A beautiful wee stadium. Ohh, what a place this is. North of Porto. Northern Portugal, and it’s built into the rock.”
Brazil: “Last time we were there was 1967, I think. You asked for that.”
Celtic’s away trips in the Europa League
Celtic made the now unforgettable long journey to Kazakhstan in August, as Kairat Almaty knocked the champions of Scotland out of the Champions League in August.
The first Europa League trip was in Serbia, whilst Celtic’s second away game in Europa is in Denmark and a clash with FC Midtjylland.
There will be two back-to-back away trips for the Bhoys in November, including facing Robin van Persie’s Feyenoord in Holland.
And then, Celtic’s final away trip of the Europa League group phase will be to Italy to take on Bologna.
