Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has provided supporters with the best answer yet on the club’s reasoning behind seeking a winter break.
Postecoglou has had to field questions on games being moved all week and appeared to finally lose his patience after today’s win against St Johnstone.
Sky Sports put it to him that the break was good timing for Celtic considering the injury and potential Covid-19 issues within the squad right now.
However, a clearly irked Postecoglou said: “The break’s coming at the right time because I don’t like playing in empty stadiums, mate. I don’t know why people confuse the two.
“If anyone enjoyed today’s game here then I’m sorry they understand a different football game than I do. I like supporters here, I don’t care if they’re all opposition supporters. That’s what the game is about.
“There’s no guarantee they’ll be back in when we resume, but at least we’ve given it a chance. I don’t know why people want to dismiss the effect supporters have on our game.”

Well, I don’t think they’ll be asking Postecoglou about this issue anymore.
That’s about as definitive as it gets and the manner in which he responded made it clear he is annoyed by some of the agendas and narratives flying around right now.
The club’s stance is clear. Postecoglou’s stance is clear. If other clubs are unhappy, maybe pester them about the fixture movement. They are in the minority in Scottish football after all.
