Ange Postecoglou has spoken to the Celtic support at Celtic Park after thousands journeyed to the stadium from Hampden to celebrate with the squad and staff.

The Celtic boss has guided the club to a domestic treble, the eighth in the club’s entire history. It’s a world record and something to be savoured and enjoyed, despite uncertainty around his future.

Postecoglou made it clear in his address that the power of the club lies with the fans, taking to the mic after Joe Hart and Callum McGregor to receive the adulation of the support.

Postecoglou message to Celtic fans after treble win

Ange said: “Thank you. Treble winners, there you go. It’s an amazing group of people, players and staff who from the first day have embraced the challenge of playing for this special football club and producing something that hopefully will be remembered forever. That’s exactly what they’ve done, so credit to every single one of them.

“And credit to you, this is what makes this football club so special. We’ve had support like we could have never ever imagined through all of it and, tonight, we celebrate as treble winners again.”

Fireworks, songs and cheers were all present on The Celtic Way amidst it all, with fans making clear to players and staff just what a day like this means to them.

Celtic’s dominance of Scottish football over the last decade-plus is unprecedented. The club achieved nine titles in a row. Five trebles have been won in the last seven years. Nobody can really stop us and, when they do, the success is fleeting.

All of this is a far cry from predictions across the city that Celtic would fold like a pack of cards. And none of us should let them forget it. The best team in Scotland, by a distance, until further notice.
