Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has faced his fair share of challenges during his first season in charge.
After a stuttering start in the league and Europe, the 56-year old has gone on to lead the Hoops to a Premier Sports cup trophy and has his side currently sitting top of the Scottish Premiership.
But, Postecoglou has insisted there is still one more question that needs to be answered by his side – and that is can Celtic bring home the league title.
Speaking on Sky Sports ahead of this weekend’s Glasgow derby fixture, Postecoglou opened up on the multiple questions his side has had to answer throughout the season, such as whether they will even challenge for the title in the first place.
This Celtic team has come a long way since then, and the Hoops manager talked up his side’s consistency, insisting there is just the one final question that they need to answer in the last four games of the season.
“All these things have been unique challenges for us this year. The question at the start of the year was, could we even challenge this year and then it got to, ‘well, we’re good at chasing, but what is it like if we do hit the front.
Callum McGregor strikes the perfect tone as excitement builds for a huge Sunday at Celtic Park
“Then you hit the front and you kind of wait for a reaction, but we’ve got stronger since then, we’ve extended our lead, and our performances in the league have been really consistent.
“So, again, all you can say at present is that the players have embraced every challenge in the same way, as something to overcome, and we have done it so far.
“The key now is, and the question everyone is asking is, can you bring it home. That’s the only question we need to answer.”
Time to ‘bring it home’
This weekend provides Celtic with the chance to go within one point of winning the Scottish Premiership.
Not many at all would have expected that to be the case when Postecoglou was appointed last year.
However, all the staff and players involved have been excellent throughout the season, and we now deservedly sit top of the league, touching distance away from the trophy returning to Parkhead.
As we head into the last push in the final four games of the season, that question will be answered.
With the resolve shown by this group of players all season, I am confident there will be a resounding answer.
