Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Kyogo Furuhashi will be part of his Celtic match squad to play St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow.

Kyogo has been missing since December after suffering a hamstring injury but has now been back in training for a good 10 days.

Postecoglou re-iterated this afternoon he could have featured last week against Rangers but that he wanted to be a bit conservative with his return in an effort to make sure he was in robust enough shape to feature.

Now, our hero is due to return on Saturday.

Postecoglou told a press conference today [Celtic YouTube]: “Yeah, he was fit last week. In the end, it was a judgement call on my behalf to be conservative with him.

“He’s trained all week, I was keen on him to have a full week of training. He’s right to go. He’ll be involved tomorrow, 100% he’ll be part of the match squad.”

This is obviously fantastic news.

The likelihood is that the Japanese forward features off the bench in the second half. But even that is excellent ahead of next week’s massive semi-final vs Rangers.

Kyogo remains Celtic’s top scorer this season with 16 goals and was a sensation in the first half of the campaign. His ability and intelligence is arguably at a level above anyone else in Scotland.

Having him fit for the run-in gives us a timely boost at the perfect moment. He’ll be giving everything to make sure we can maintain our lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
