Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has continued to state that the Hoops will remain active in the transfer window should the right option come arise.

It has been a busy summer for the 56-year-old as he prepared to shape his squad for his second season in the Parkhead dugout.

So far, the Bhoys have completed seven new signings, which have included new faces and some familiar ones from last season making a return.

Across the last few weeks, Celtic’s incomings may have slowed down a little. However, Postecoglou has been keen to stress the club is still in the market for players.

And the Celtic manager looks set to deliver on that promise after confirming on Sunday afternoon that a deal to bring Rubin Kazan attacker Sead Haksabanovic to the club is ‘getting closer’.

Once the Hoops eighth signing of the window is complete, many might suspect that the former Socceroos boss will switch his focus to getting some of the deadwood out of his squad.

However, Postecoglou has once again sent an exciting transfer message to the Celtic support, insisting that if the opportunities come along in the final few weeks of the window, then the club will look to bring the player in as he looks to continue building his squad.

He said [Glasgow Evening Times]: “Yeah, there is a possibility [of players coming in this week]. We can’t stand still. We’re still building.

“Every now and then, I’ll glance at the diary, and if you go back 12 months from today, you’re going to have a very different picture of what our football club looked like.

“We’ve made a hell of a lot of progress, but we’re still at the beginning. I’m still building a team, building a game style, building an environment. There’s still work to be done.

“Just because you have had success or it looks like things are going well, that’s not the time to stand still.

“I still know there’s a lot of work to be done. My ambitions for this football club are very strong in terms of making sure we are the best we can be.

“So, we’ll continue to strengthen with the guys we’ve got, but if opportunities come along to bring people in who I think will help us on that journey, then I’ll bring them in.”

Ange Postecoglou ready to strike in the market once again.

Looking back 12 months, last summer’s transfer window was a hectic time for those involved in the club’s recruitment.

It appears to have been the exact opposite for this summer, with the Hoops getting some of the most important parts of their business complete early in the window.

And, it is exciting to hear that we may not quite be done yet in the transfer market, with Ange Postecoglou continuing to keep the door open for new arrivals.

It seems all but certain that Haksabanovic will come through the door before deadline day on September 1st, but there is still a chance someone else may join him.

During Sunday’s 2-0 win over Hearts, the Celtic bench was looking the strongest it has been for some time, and adding another player to that would set the Hoops up brilliantly for another busy season filled with fixtures from four different competitions.

When our transfer business is complete, I am sure Postecoglou will be the first to inform the press/supporters. So, this latest admission could mean that Celtic are keeping their options open in the closing few weeks of the summer transfer window.
