Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has insisted that the only thing on his managerial radar is creating more success at Parkhead.

After a brilliant first campaign in charge at Parkhead, Postecoglou was always likely to attract plenty of attention for his work that saw him win a league and cup double.

In recent weeks, reports have suggested that clubs south of the border have been watching the Celtic manager closely, with Brighton being the most heavily linked after the departure of Graham Potter.

Of course, the lure of the English Premier League can be massive with the money on offer and the chance to go up against some of the best club sides in the world.

However, Postecoglou hasn’t batted an eyelid at any of that interest and continues to insist his focus remains on life at Celtic.

This week, the former Socceroos boss made the trip back to his homeland in Australia, alongside Hoops officials for talks regarding the Bhoys’ visit to the country in November to take part in the Sydney Super Cup.

Last night, Postecoglou caught up with Australian media outlet Fox News, who were interested to hear about life at Celtic and his recent links away from the club.

The Celtic boss once again made his intentions clear, that his only focus is on creating more success whilst in the Parkhead dugout, as he opened up on being manager at a ‘really massive football club’.

He said [Fox News]: “Anyone who’s followed my career knows I’m pretty big on playing the game a certain way. I’ve tried to do that wherever my been. Against a backdrop of trying to be successful, I’ve always tried to play football in a manner that I think excites supporters and obviously brings success to football clubs. It’s important to me.

“Everywhere I’ve been, the question has always been: ‘Will it work at the next level?’ What I’ve tried to prove is that it does and it will.”

“I’m at a really massive football club at the moment. Sometimes, because we play at the Scottish Premiership, and it’s probably not one of the high-profile European leagues (we forget how big Celtic is). But in terms of the institutional football clubs, Celtic – we play in front of 60,000 people, we have the opportunity to win trophies, and we’re in the Champions League. It’s a massive football club.

“I know that the success I have there, and hopefully we play football that I want, I’m proud to get noticed everywhere.”

When asked about links to the EPL, Ange said: “It’s not really on my radar. It’s a bit like our players – I keep saying to them: if they do what they do well, then all this other stuff takes care of itself, whatever their ambitions or my ambitions may be.

“My ambition’s always been the same, wherever I’ve been, it’s to be as successful as I can. I’ve charted a course for myself that’s got me to where I am today. I’ve just tried to do what I’ve done to the best of my ability, and opportunities arise from that.

“Right now, as I said, I’m at a massive football club. I’m living the dream, and I’m enjoying every minute of it. Just determined to bring as much success as I can to it while I’m there.”

Ange Postecoglou’s ‘living the dream’ and Celtic fans will be delighted to hear that

It is fair to say that in his first year at Celtic, the Parkhead faithful have certainly taken to Ange Postecoglou.

The ex-Yokohama F Marinos manager produced an incredible turnaround, winning back the Scottish Premiership title whilst playing an extremely attractive style of football.

For Celtic fans, it almost feels like the perfect match having Ange in charge. But, as mentioned, the lure of the English Premier League can be massive.

However, at this point in time, that doesn’t seem to be attracting the interest of our boss, who knows he is already in a huge role as Celtic manager and going up against some of the best sides in Europe in the Champions League.

Long may it stay that way, and hopefully, we are able to see Ange lift many more trophies as Hoops boss before deciding to move on to his next venture.
