Ange Postecoglou has left his English Premier League nightmare behind him as the Celtic icon takes on a new role at UEFA.
Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham after the Celtic hero won the Europa League and Spurs’ first trophy in over 40 years.
The former Celtic boss then took charge of Nottingham Forest but that spell ended in disaster after Postecoglou was dispatched after just 39 days.
I want the next manager of Celtic to be…
But now, as Celtic’s search for a permanent boss continues, Postecoglou has found a new role at UEFA and he’s already hard at work.

Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou’s UEFA role
Postecoglou was widely expected to return to football in some capacity, but not many people would have thought that a job at UEFA was the way back into the game.
Football 360 have shared on X how the former Celtic manager was put right into it as Postecoglou was sent on an Arsenal mission at the San Siro.
A post from the football site on X said, “Ange Postecoglou has a new gig, and he’s joined by quite a list of football heavyweights. 👀 His first mission? Scout Arsenal at the San Siro.
“Thankfully he wasn’t sent down the road to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium!”
Postecoglou has joined UEFA’s Technical Observer Panel where he will write reports on Champions League fixtures with insights on coaching, tactics and playing styles, with access to broadcast feeds, tactical angles, and other views to provide “detailed reports on the latest developments in coaching” and “dynamic account of the state of the game”.
Celtic miss the Ange Postecoglou boat
Would Ange Postecoglou have returned to Celtic? Surely the question must have been asked?
Maybe the Australian is waiting until the end of the season to see if Celtic come calling again and so he will have a full summer to assess the squad and get additions.
Or maybe Postecoglou has seen the farce that is Celtic unfolding and has decided that it’s not for him?
One thing is for sure, with all that has gone on at the club this season and how the board have handled all the controversy that has unfolded, attracting a top manager is going to be an uphill task.
