Ange Postecoglou makes an impression with brilliant pro Celtic response

The Celtic support may be pretty low after Wednesday’s exit from the Champions League, but they’re still behind Ange Postecoglou.

Our new manager seemed to have an arm tied behind his back for the qualifying tie against FC Midtjylland, and in the end it showed.

But Postecoglou’s post-match comments to the BBC’s Liam McLeod have given many some cause for optimism.

As my colleague Euan told you last night, Ange wasn’t too keen on the idea of it being a “catastrophic night” for his side, as McLeod had put it.

He replied: “It’s pretty strong language, mate. I don’t know what your definition of catastrophic is, but it certainly doesn’t fit my definition of what happened tonight.” (BBC)

And, despite the result, some Celtic fans were delighted with the response from our boss.

Celtic fans are still fully behind Ange

Postecoglou has shown already that he is capable of dealing with daft comments from the press.

You feel that many in Scottish football have written him off already.

Our Aussie friends tell us he thrives on that.

He needs to be backed.

In other news, nine Celtic games could be moved after the club exited the Champions League
