Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou has given his reaction to the constant speculation linking him with the Tottenham Hotspur position. All week, the Celtic fans have had to listen to pundits and journalists give their opinion on the matter and now, the Hoops boss has finally spoken out.
Postecoglou said [Sky Sports], “It doesn’t register. I get that people love to speculate on these things but we’ve worked really, really hard to get ourselves into this position.
“For me to let my mind wander about anything else other than getting our team prepared for a big day on Saturday, it’s just not who I am.
“We’ve done this dance a few times this year so I think the players are well aware of where my thoughts lie.

“Whatever it is, the players are really good at just focusing on what’s important – and what’s important is getting ready for a big game on Saturday.
“It doesn’t enter my sphere of thinking because my role is to make sure my team is absolutely prepared for whatever the next challenge is.
“Far be it from me to say that if a cup final isn’t enough for me to draw all my attention to that then nothing will be.”
The report goes on to say that Ange was asked if he will be speaking to the Celtic board about his contract situation after Saturday’s final.
The Celtic manager replied, “No because that would mean me planning, organising, thinking about anything other than Saturday.
“I understand that’s your job to ask these questions because that’s the role you’re in, but you’re not invested in this football club like I am, like the players are and the supporters are.
“For me I woke up this morning thinking about one thing, the same thing I’ve been thinking about for the last seven days – we want to make sure we play well in this cup final and make it a truly special season.”
If anything, at least the Celtic manager is consistent with his message to the fans. Nothing will take his focus away from what really matters at this point. And that is to lift the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou has the perfect opportunity to really etch his name into the history books by not only completing his first treble but by concluding Celtic’s eighth. And, it seems, even the links to Tottenham Hotspur are not going to distract him.
Regardless of what happens over the next couple of days, this should hopefully dull down the constant streams of speculation surrounding the Celtic manager’s future and allow Ange to get on with the job of preparing his team for the biggest game of the season.
What happens after Saturday is anyone’s guess but you can bet on one thing. Should Celtic lift the cup at Hampden, the fans will enjoy the day and celebrate a manager that has brought a lot of joy to the stands since he took over two seasons ago.
