Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has reacted to being named the Scottish Premiership Glen’s manager of the month for August.

Incredibly, the 57-year-old will be picking up his sixth manager of the month award after being awarded the prize between January and April last season, as well as October 2021.

The Celtic boss was presented with the trophy at Lennoxtown this afternoon, thanks to his side’s 100% winning start to the Scottish Premiership campaign.

The Bhoys delivered 15 points from their opening five fixtures, with victories over Aberdeen, Ross County, Kilmarnock, Hearts and Dundee United.

Celtic have looked at their free-flowing, attacking best at times, scoring 21 goals and only conceding one in reply, sitting nicely at the top of the league with a two-point advantage.

Upon receiving the award, Ange Postecoglou showed his class once again, being pictured alongside two members of the club’s staff, which included new assistant coach Harry Kewell.

The former Socceroos boss expressed his delight at once again lifting the individual award but, as always, made sure to pay tribute to the staff around him at the club who have played their part in the brilliant start to the season.

He said [Celtic FC]: “It is pleasing to receive this award again, which as ever is received by us all as a wider team and recognises the collective efforts of the players and my backroom team.

“We have worked hard in the early part of the season, delivering some excellent performances and really positive results, but we know we will need to maintain these really high levels in order to achieve what we want to.

“I would also like to thank our fans who, as ever, have been magnificent once again all month in supporting us.”

At this point, the Scottish Premiership might be better off changing the name of the award to pay tribute to Postecoglou with the number of times he has now lifted the trophy.

It just goes to show how big of an impact the Celtic manager has had on the club, and that impact is continuing to grow going into the new season.

I am sure Ange will be desperate to see his side keep up their brilliant early season form, which may see another one of these awards come his way in September.

Hopefully, he has made some more space on the mantelpiece at home, as he is going to need it with the amount of individual awards he has won now!
