Ange Postecoglou’s spell at Celtic has been a whirlwind for all concerned – the players, club staff, supporters and the man himself.
He arrived with the club in a deeply difficult situation, having just tasted bitter defeat in one of the most hyped seasons for decades.
From day one, almost a year ago, he set about his task with a singular goal of turning Celtic back into a successful side. It’s only now, with his feet up on holiday in Greece, that he’s really able to reflect on it all.

The Celtic boss was in a relaxed mood on Australian radio this morning, speaking to the Sportsday show and giving an insight into what it’s like to be the iconic manager of Celtic in a city like Glasgow.
It’s been an adjustment as you’d expect, with Postecoglou stating: “Right from the start, it’s just that sort of city. As you can imagine, there are only really two clubs of any interest in the city of Glasgow and you can’t escape it, particularly if you become a manager of one of the two clubs.
“It meant adjusting lifestyle for the family. We’ve tried to keep it as normal as possible. The first few times when we ventured out to a shopping centre, we figured out that can’t happen anymore.
“But everyone is really welcoming. I guess having success helps that. It was an adjustment in terms of the instant recognition people have of me, as opposed to when I was back home.
“At the same time, I love it. People are passionate about sport, passionate about their football club – that’s the stuff I love so I’m happy to fit in with that.”
The whole 15-minute interview is worth listening to if you have time. He doesn’t give away any transfer information or plans for Celtic’s future, but it’s just nice to hear Postecoglou in a relaxed mood speaking so positively about life at Celtic.

He is a very content man right now, having achieved something nobody really expected of him in his first season.
No doubt in between trips to the beaches or restaurants of Greece, he’s working on the plans for what’s in store after the summer break. He never stops, after all!
