Ange Postecoglou was surely a happy man at the full-time whistle on Friday as his Tottenham Hotspur side beat Burnley in the FA Cup.
Spurs entered the competition at the third round stage and Pedro Porro’s stunning goal was enough to see the Celtic hero and his charges progress.
There was no reason for Ange to be disappointed – until he stepped into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s press auditorium after the win over Vincent Kompany’s men.
From there, things turned sour and the great man’s mood was clearly ruined. And it is all centred around a reporter’s line of questioning regarding Eric Dier’s fitness and transfer links to Bayern Munich.
Ange Postecoglou snaps at reporter

As we told you yesterday, Ange Postecoglou wasn’t taking any nonsense from the English press when he was asked if he ever sees himself winning major trophies.
Of course, his response clearly referencing his incredible success at Celtic was brilliant and the sort of reply we became accustomed to when he was up north dominating the Scottish football landscape.
And on Friday night during his post-Burnley FA Cup presser, he once again pulled no punches when speaking to the press.
As you’ll hear above, Ange was quizzed over the availability of defender Eric Dier. The reporter in question initially asked: “Eric Dier was injured tonight?”
Ange simply replied: “Yeah, yeah.”
Reporter: “What’s the nature of the injury?”
Ange: “He just pulled up sore and didn’t train yesterday.
Reporter: “And so there’s nothing with the links with Bayern Munich. We understand there is an agreement between the two clubs…”
Ange then butts in and is clearly vexed: “Separate issue mate, but don’t question my integrity when I say he’s injured. He’s injured and he didn’t train yesterday. Ask him, he was injured. It’s got nothing to do with anything else.
“When you ask me if he’s injured, he’s injured. I didn’t make that up. If he wasn’t injured then I’d say he wasn’t selected, it’s easy for me to say.
“In terms of anything else that’s happening, not on my radar and not that I’ve heard of.”
Ange Postecoglou has the English press on strings and isn’t prepared to mess about if he thinks they aren’t taking him at face value.
Trust us, after the last couple of episodes in the past 24 hours, they might all think twice about what they ask the 58-year-old in the future because he is more than capable of making them look a bit silly.
