Ange Postecoglou was in great form today as Celtic took another step back to normality

Celtic took another step back to normality earlier today with the pre-Dundee United press conference taking place in person.

While the club have hosted such events before Champions League games this season, all domestic fixtures over the past two and a half season have been preceded by Zoom press conferences.

So it was very refreshing to hear Ange Postecoglou being quizzed by members of the broadcast media in person today.

Of course, we have no information on whether today was a one off or the start of a return back to complete normality.

Things were busy at Celtic Park and Lennoxtown on Friday, and it is worth saying that Joe Hart’s presser earlier in the day was over Zoom.

But Postecoglou, fresh off another Premiership Manager of the Month award, was in great form.

He spoke openly about how he feels Celtic can improve in Europe, and even had two or three of his famous one-liners.

Postecoglou press conferences haven’t been quite as enjoyable in recent months, with repetitive questions from the media failing to ignite the fire in our leader.

In fact, his best answers are almost always saved for questions from members of the fan media.

Let’s hope fan media can continue to be part of proceedings, and let’s hope today was the start of more in-person events.

Onwards and upwards.
