Celtic’s 2022 AGM took place earlier today at Celtic Park.

Present at the event were the likes of Ian Bankier, Michael Nicholson, Fran Alonso and of course Ange Postecoglou.

Anyone who is accustomed to these events will be well aware of the drama which takes place both inside the rooms and online.

The customary question and answers session usually produces a few corkers, with many of the same tiresome themes revisited year after year.

If you’re on social media you’ll be well aware of some of the events that got people talking today.

But amid the usual drama, there was a sight and a theme that should please virtually every Celtic supporter: Ange Postecoglou took centre stage for all football matters.

He has a plan for taking Celtic to the next level in Europe, it fits into the club’s business and he is going to be allowed to take that plan forward.

Earlier today, we told you about his long-term transfer strategy which may involve players coming and going virtually every summer, with general improvement at the heart of everything Celtic do.

The theme of making our mark in Europe was very evident at today’s event, in stark contrast to 12 months ago when virtually all of the chat was about an ailing board on its last legs.

With chairman Ian Bankier set to leave the club in the coming months, it seems like Celtic are looking to the future for the first time in a good while.

And with Postecoglou at the helm, with his grand plan, more good times could be just around the corner.
