Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is a proud and happy man this evening after winning his third piece of silverware since arriving in Glasgow.

A double from Kyogo Furuhashi powered the Bhoys to a 2-1 derby win over Rangers, who threw everything they had at the best team in Scotland, only to come up short.

It was a rollercoaster of a final at Hampden and 90 minutes that shredded the nerves and emotions but Celtic deserved the victory.

Ange Postecoglou takes ‘great pride’ in Celtic trophy win

After the game, Ange Postecoglou gave his view to BBC Radio Scotland [17:37], stating: “In moments like this you want to make sure you get the whole experience. You watch the players and the fans and staff, what it means to them, you take great pride in it.

“There’s a burden when you’re the manager of this football club to bring success to it. You just know what it means to our supporters and what their week is going to be like. It’s a day they’ll remember forever. Every success is written in stone here, the fact you’ve contributed to it, it’s great pride.

“Those are the expectations. We’ve been consistent for a very long time. We don’t let our standards slip in our football and the way we present ourselves every week. If you keep doing that and keep wanting to improve you give yourselves a chance of success and that’s what we’ve done, and we’ve taken it.”

Postecoglou has now won three of the four domestic trophies available to him as a manager and there’s a big chance to win two more before the season is out.

When he arrived in Glasgow, the Australian promised Celtic supporters to do everything he could to uphold the standards of success at the club. He’s more than making good on that less than two years in.

You get the sense Celtic will get even better under his watch, too.
