Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been speaking about Kyogo Furuhashi a lot this weekend and each time his answers offer us something a little new.
Yesterday, pre-scan, he eased fears and stated it was not a serious injury. Today, pre-match with Chick Young on BBC Radio Scotland, he suggested it still wasn’t a long-term issue.
Now, after the match, he’s directly commented on Kyogo’s Scottish League Cup Final chances. The short answer is, he doesn’t know whether the Japanese forward will be available.
As quoted by The Scotsman, he said: “Mate, I could say yes, I could say no. If you ask Kyogo he probably would have played today, if you ask the medical team, they would say he’s out for two or three weeks.
“I’m kind of taking a stab in the dark in the middle somewhere, but I’ve no idea. I’ll be guided by the medical team and Kyogo. I can’t rule him out for anything at the moment, but you can’t rule him in.”
So really, everyone is in the dark on this, including the manager.

It will be an anxious wait between now and the Hampden clash but at least Kyogo is optimistic of featuring. We can only hope he has a strong recovery over the next few days and gets the all clear from the medical staff.
Ange’s comments do seem to rule him out of the upcoming trip to Ross County mid-week though, so it’ll be another patched together attack for that one – as we saw today.
