Ange Postecoglou has a controlled and composed persona in media appearances but has shared he isn’t afraid to let his Celtic stars see and hear a louder side of him if required.
Postecoglou can be seen barking orders on the touchline at Celtic matches if the team aren’t enacting his gameplan, but he also steps in on a personal basis at Lennoxtown if he spots behaviour he doesn’t like.
It seems some players get the so-called ‘hairdryer treatment’ if they fall foul of the standards set, with the manager admitting there have been a few instances of this during his time at the club.

Ange Postecoglou can’t just be ‘nice’
As quoted by The Sunday Post [05/02 print edition, Post Match supplement], Postecoglou said: “I’ve had my moments here, it’s fair to say! There have definitely been moments.
“People might be surprised because they may not have been at what they would see as the most obvious times. It’s not about getting angry or having a blast just for the sake of it. It’s about whether I feel something isn’t as it should be.
“Usually it’s around – not so much the game or results – but behaviours. If I see a behaviour that I don’t think fits in, I’ll make sure the player and the group knows about it. That’s my role. I can’t ignore it, or let it go and be nice. That’s what everyone expects of me.”
Ange’s man-management is second to none
Despite having a firm hand when it’s warranted, it’s clear the vast majority of this squad adores working with the manager. The respect they have for him comes across in almost every media appearance they take part in.
More than that, you can see his words and philosophy on the pitch itself in the way that Celtic go about attacking a game, on and off the ball. They look every bit a Postecoglou outfit.
Whatever he is doing is working, big time. So if that requires a few verbal missiles thrown at Lennoxtown from time to time, so be it!
