The season is not even concluded yet and Ange Postecoglou is already planning for his third season in charge.

It seems the treble is taking a backseat for now as the manager was talking transfers.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Ange said that the wheels are already in motion to make some summer additions and prepare for any possible outgoings.

The Celtic manager said [Daily Record], “We already have some plans in place in terms of areas we want to strengthen.

“At the same time, there is always the possibility that our players may move on for one reason or another and we have to be ready for that and make sure that come the end of the window we are in a better position that we were going into it.”

Postecoglou was then asked how many changes are likely to happen in the summer window and he was fairly philosophical about it, “It depends on the window, particularly the summer window.

“You go into that one with a little bit of uncertainty because you don’t know what players will be affected within your own squad. So you are kind of always alert.

“But the goal is the same in every transfer window. We want to come out of the window stronger than we go into it. And we are ready for that.”

Ange’s Celtic transfer plan must have Europe in mind

A fairly obvious statement, but it is true.

The Celtic manager’s track record in the transfer market is excellent.

Looking at the squad he has assembled so far, you would be hard-pressed to find a position that is in dire need of strengthening for the domestic game.

That’s not to say that there isn’t any additions required. Our Champions League exploits proved that earlier this season.

The point is, if Ange is looking to strengthen this side, then it must be with Europe in mind.

And if that is the case, a stronger European squad means we will naturally continue to dominate Scottish football for the foreseeable future.

That is why the Celtic fans should be excited.
