Celtic supporters in the UK & Ireland will have to shell out £12.99 to watch this Wednesday night’s match away to Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The fixture, a meaningless affair, has not been selected for Sky Sports coverage.
That means the only available, legal route to tune in is via Red TV – Aberdeen’s pay-per-view service this season.
Celtic are also unable to do any deals with the Dons in an effort to provide value to season ticket holders, because of details in the broadcasting contract this season.
Supporter Liason Officer confirmed that on Twitter earlier today after a fan enquired.
Not the first time this season for Celtic supporters
It’s not the first time Celtic fans have been left with only a PPV option to watch games this season. Similar happened against St Mirren and Ross County last year, though at least those games had stakes involved.
Between season tickets, Sky Sports packages, a Premier Sports subscription and these one-off PPV events, it’s been a costly business just to watch Celtic from home this term.
Much of that is not Celtic’s fault but the issue of value will rumble on regardless.

Some Celtic fan groups are calling on the club to offer shares to season ticket holders in an effort to ensure real value is provided for last season’s fan investment. It’s argued this would both keep money inside Celtic, in contrast to refunds, and also give supporters more of a say on matters at the club.
Celtic have not yet communicated plans for season tickets next term, or if any of this ‘added value’ will be provided.
