Celtic defender Anthony Ralston has revealed that new additions to the squad in January provide players with extra motivation to improve.
With just two months until the winter window opens in January, Ange Postecoglou has been discussing his potential plans.
The 57-year-old has stated on several occasions that plans are already in place as he targets further improvements to his squad for the second half of the season and beyond.

The Hoops have also been linked with their first move of the window, as reports suggested that Japanese centre-back Yuki Kobayashi could be on his way from Vissel Kobe.
Although Postecoglou’s squad looks in great shape, the Celtic boss is always striving to improve, particularly after a disappointing European campaign.
And members of his current squad are also very open to welcoming new additions to Parkhead, according to Anthony Ralston.
The full-back insisted that new arrivals will continue to push the Hoops players, taking them to their ‘A game’ as Ralston reflected on his and the club’s aims to compete in Europe going forward.
He said [Daily Record]: “When you are a club of this stature, you are always having to have your A game because there is always going to be someone else coming in, another person wanting to take your position. That’s part and parcel of not just here but all football.
“You always want to be at the top of your game anyway. You don’t want any reason to drop your game off, so, yes, it’s extra motivation for everyone involved to stay in, and that is the way it works.

“We don’t want to just compete domestically. We want to compete in Europe, and we want to keep striving to the highest possible point, and that is our aim.
“We don’t just want to be a team that is comfortable. We want to be kicking on, and we need to do things that have not been done before. That’s our aim, and we will continue to do that.”
Ralson and Celtic squad keen to see new arrivals that will help improve Parkhead side.
At many clubs, some members of a squad might not be keen on seeing several quality new signings arrive in the door in January due to their place being up for grabs.
However, Ange Postecoglou has created a terrific attitude amongst his dressing room, which has left them thriving off the idea of new players coming to the club.
Instead of being fearful for their place, the Bhoys’ level of performance is likely to reach a new level, with the new signings pushing the players currently in that position to improve.

There aren’t many better examples of that than Ralston, who has taken his game to a whole new level after the arrival of Josip Juranovic in 2021.
So, it is great to hear that this is the attitude of the squad when it comes to new signings, and hopefully, we see a few welcomed at an early stage in the January transfer window.
