Celtic are in pole position to close in on another Scottish Premiership title following another deserved victory in midweek against Dundee United.

The Bhoys had to work for their eventual reward but strikes from Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate put the seal on a professional three points at home to the league’s third-placed side.

Speaking post-match, Callum McGregor lauded Celtic’s man of the match Arne Engels after another glowing performance from the Belgium international in the engine room.

Making his mark since joining from Augsburg for £11 million last summer, the Dendermonde-born man is beginning to show his authority as a dominant presence in both boxes under Brendan Rodgers.

Voted sponsors’ player of the match for his display, Engels has now taken to Instagram to share his reaction to another headline-grabbing win for the Bhoys.

Taking to Instagram, Engels captured the moment after Celtic’s victory over Dundee United by sharing a selection of snaps from another ultimately successful evening from a personal standpoint.

Providing an interesting caption to go along with his post, the Belgium star wrote: “Another great night at the Park (four-leaf clover attached).

Most will admit they haven’t used that terminology to describe Parkhead before, but it is something that could certainly catch on as long as Engels keeps his habit of good performances up!

Now, the Bhoys’ record-signing will hope to get some important recovery in before Celtic travel to face Ross County in Dingwall this weekend.

Arne Engels stole the show against Dundee United

Stat-trackers Fotmob give a steady indication of why Engels was a real force against Dundee United on a night where the champions worse the visitors down.

Playing a key role, the 21-year-old took on five shots and created three chances in total, alongside having 12 touches in the opposition’s box.

Breaking between the lines appears to be Engels’ speciality, and there is hope he can add more goals and assists to his game as the campaign moves forward.
