Arne Engels has had to deal with some unwarranted criticism in his first year at Celtic.
Arriving from Augsburg last summer, Engels then became Celtic’s most expensive transfer signing after Brendan Rodgers paid £11m for the midfielder.
Settling in at Paradise in his first season, the 21-year-old Belgian has had an up and down season at Celtic with periods of patchy form married with some performances that showed why Rodgers laid out a hefty fee for him.
Nominated for the SPFA Young Player of the Year Award, Engels has already answered his critics but not missing the chance, the young midfielder took a pop at his critics this season with a superb message to his Celtic detractors.

Arne Engels superbly fires back and shows Celtic critics his medals
Engels was instrumental in helping Celtic beat Rangers in the League Cup final and has played a huge part in getting the Hoops’ fourth title in a row over the line.
But despite that, there appears to be an element in the media that Engels is taking a pop at and sent them a message with a reminder of how many winners medals he already has in his first season at Celtic.
Engels told The Herald, “There is still hopefully more to come. I am still 21 and a young player. I am working every day and trying to do my best. I think I have had a decent season. Not everyone is saying this, but I think so.
“I already have two trophies, so I cannot really complain. If you play for Celtic, there will always be people that have something to say or something to write.
“You need to deal with it, and you need to be mentally really strong. I was already mentally
strong, even from my youth days.
“I am just looking to myself and not really listening or reading stuff. I am trying to get better every day.
“I am on a good path.”
