Why Michael Stewart is confident Brendan Rodgers will stay at Celtic

When Rodgers first returned to Celtic how vowed to stay until the end of his three-year deal unless he was ’emptied’ by the club.

Now that date is nearing, Stewart has shared why he believes Rodgers will stay beyond his current deal and manage Celtic for the foreseeable future.

Stewart said on The Scottish Football Social Club [16m], “I just wanted to touch on what Peter [Grant] was talking about there in terms of the intensity and the pressure.

“I genuinely do think there’s a very good chance that Brendan Rodgers will be there beyond the three-year contract because of the timings I’m talking about and, in large, I think part of it is I think he actually enjoys that pressure.

“Peter you’re talking about the dynamics and I would agree with you completely that that pressure at Celtic is different from, for example Leicester where he was, I think he actually really enjoys that pressure.”

Brendan Rodgers’ all-time success at Celtic

Many Celtic supporters will be keen to see Rodgers stay on at the club and after the success he has delivered over two spells in Paradise, it’s easy to see why.

With another potential treble on the line, if Rodgers wins the Scottish Cup next month then he will be the only Celtic manager to have delivered three domestic trebles.

It’s little wonder many Celtic fans will be keen to see him stay on.
