There are two things that the Celtic fans are known for worldwide. Their TIFO’s and their brilliant songbook.
From the iconic You’ll Never Walk Alone to the creative Jota on the Wing, the Celtic supporters love to produce catchy songs in the stands for their heroes on the pitch.
And it seems that one song that was created for former Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has been adopted by his new club Atalanta United.
The song’s lyrics, “Giakoumakis comes from Greece, when he plays he scores with ease, he leads the line he plays up top, our number 7 gift from God!” were sung by the Celtic fans to the 1980’s one hit wonder Nena’s 99 Red Balloons tune.
Giakoumakis left Celtic in the January window to head for the MLS where he has been in superb form for his new club.

Five goals in his last five outings have helped take the Eastern Conference team to third in the table, just two points from top spot.
But not only that, Giakoumakis’ 13th-minute strike against Chicago Fire means that he is only the second player in MLS history to score five goals in five starts. [Washington Post]
There is no doubt the Greek striker is proving to be a hit at his new club and if he continues his goalscoring form, Giakoumakis could help his side to their first piece of silverware since they won the US Open Cup and the Campeones Cup back in 2019.
