Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has reacted to his return to pre-season, posting images from his first day back at Lennoxtown.
The 27-year-old returned to Scotland as Ange Postecoglou’s squad prepared to jet off to Austria for pre-season preparations.
Furuhashi has spent the last few weeks in Japan on international duty and enjoying his time off over the summer.
During his time off, the striker was spotted alongside his former teammates whilst visiting his old side Vissel Kobe and was able to get in some extra training before his return this week.
The Celtic star looked delighted to be back amongst his teammates this afternoon for the first time since May ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Taking to Instagram, the Japanese internationalist seemed insistent that he was ready to go, posting the caption “Back to work. The new season starts!🙆🏻♂️🍀”
Kyogo enjoyed a brilliant first season in the green and white Hoops, becoming a talismanic figure during the early stages of Ange Postecoglou’s reign.
He scored some memorable goals in his opening six months, including a double in the Premier Sports cup final victory over Hibernian.
However, the second half of the frontman’s season was hindered by a serious hamstring injury, and Kyogo only made his return in the final few games of the campaign.

With that in mind, after an extended break between January and March, I am sure the Celtic hero will be raring to go for the new season.
It is easy to forget that Kyogo also arrived whilst the competitive fixtures were underway last summer. So, this will be his first full pre-season under Ange Postecoglou.
I am sure that is not only an exciting prospect for the fans but also the player and Postecoglou himself, who can really get to work and help take this Celtic side to another level.
