Celtic have verbally agreed to take Jeffrey Schlupp on loan from Crystal Palace.

Fabrizio Romano announced the Celtic transfer update on social media after 67 Hai Hail shared an update from Sky Sports earlier this afternoon.

With the deal to take the Crystal Palace now looking like it will be done, Celtic fans will be looking forward to hearing more news about more new signings as the night moves on.

And it seems that the next piece of transfer business might not be too far away.

Barry Ferguson says he ‘wouldn’t be surprised’ if West Ham player joins Celtic

Celtic are said to be interested in bringing Danny Ings to the club after news that a deal to sign Schlupp was already in place reached the ears of Barry Ferguson.

And reacting to the news, the former Rangers midfielder sounded exasperated as he said he wouldn’t be surprised if Celtic got this deal done.

Ferguson told The Go Radio Football Show, “I think that would be a shrewd bit of business. As I said, I still think there’s a lot of football left in him.

“He’s not getting much game time at West Ham at this moment in time. They’ve obviously signed Ferguson from Brighton. So, that’s him down the pecking order.

“So, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes that move to Celtic.”

What Brendan Rodgers has said about Celtic completing deadline-day loan deals

Celtic are clearly in the market for temporary loan deals as Rodgers looks to ensure the Hoops’ first-team squad is strengthened tonight.

Rodgers shared his transfer deadline day ‘plan’ with Celtic fans yesterday and it seems that the temporary market is on the Celtic manager wants to dip in as the hours tick away.

The Celtic manager said, “I would think so, I would think so,” when asked about loans.

“I think that to get the one that we would want for that longer term, if it’s not there, then I don’t want to just bring in anyone just for the sake of it. I’ll always look from within.

“There’s no point in bringing in someone if they’re not the right fit.

“So it might be more down that route, but we’ll wait and see what tomorrow evening brings.”
