Celtic’s financial results are extremely impressive and not many fans will disagree with that.
The Celtic board have done a great job overall to ensure the club is self-sustaining and profitable.
But all that means nothing after the Celtic first-team was asset-stripped this summer and lack of replacements left Brendan Rodgers coming out of this summer with a significantly weaker team than he entered it with.
Nicholas Kuhn and Adam Idah both left Celtic and the board failed to replace them with players of similar, if not better, quality.
And as fan anger grows, the BBC’s Liam McLeod used a strange choice of words to describe Celtic fan feeling towards the reported financial figures.

BBC man says Celtic fans are right to ‘feel aggrieved’ at club accounts
Speaking midweek about the Celtic accounts, MacLeod praised the club for their financial prudency but used a strange term to describe fan anger at the situation surrounding supporters and the board.
Preston told The Scottish Football Podcast [24m 30s], “They are very healthy figures. It’s a well-run club, you can see that.”
Liam MacLeod replied, “But does that kind of almost give a bit of credence to what the Celtic supporters are crying about?”
Preston: “Yeah, because it’s coming from the Celtic supporters really, and good trading. They bring in, as we’ve seen over the years, they bring in players cheap and they sell them for good money.
“So it’s good trading, but also the Celtic fans, they buy the merchandise, they buy the season tickets and everything else that goes with it, the corporate stuff.
“So yeah, they certainly, and you can see they’re feeling aggrieved at the moment, and you can see why we’re sitting with all that money in the bank.
“There’s no point being the richest person in the graveyard, go and spend it.”
It was a strange way to comment on the Celtic fans protesting as while the lack of spending is frustrating, it’s the lack of direction and ambition the club is showing that’s annoying Celtic supporters more.
Celtic fans hold second protest and embarrass the Parkhead board
Celtic fans’ first protest against the board was a rousing success as pundits, ex-players and the Scottish media ran stories for the whole week.
And at Partick Thistle today, the Celtic board looked visibly embarrassed as this happened:
This is simply not going to go away and with Celtic facing Hibs at Parkhead next weekend, 60,000 will get the chance to make their voices heard for the first time as a collective.
