Big update dropped on Nicolas Kuhn Celtic contract amid Premier League transfer chatter

Nicolas Kuhn has been Celtic’s standout player this season so far.

There had been a worry among some fans when Matt O’Riley departed for Brighton that creativity within the Hoops squad may have been lacking.

Not that you’d know it.

Kuhn‘s incredible 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this term so far has been nothing short of magical from the German who might have played his way into Julian Nagelsmann’s international set-up.

Kuhn is one of Celtic’s top providers and has certainly been the best player thus far but with that run of form brings unwanted interest from clubs with deep pockets.

Premier League clubs are reportedly circling the winger with Brentford named as one possible £30million consideration for Kuhn.

Now, though, it looks like Celts are planning ahead if reports in the Daily Record are to be believed.

They claim that Brendan Rodgers and Celtic want to tie down the playmaker onto a lucrative new contract in a bid to ward off interest.

Nicolas Kuhn could sign a new Celtic contract

Kuhn is seemingly on less than the top earners at Parkhead including Callum McGregor and Cameron Carter-Vickers and a new deal would be a reward for his form.

He is currently dealt in until 2029 as it is which leaves Celtic in a strong bargaining position but new terms would make any exit talk surely a thing of the past for now.

We told how Kuhn’s agent emphatically shut down any January exit chat with a statement insisting the star man is happy in Glasgow and is going nowhere.

How Kuhn’s stats stack up against Celtic teammates

Daizen: Played: 26, Goals: 13, Assists: 4
Idah: Played: 26, Goals: 8, Assists: 1

Palma: Played: 8, Goals: 0, Assists: 0

And this extension – or more cash for the player at least – would strengthen that claim from Christian Nerlinger, his representative.

Kuhn has been described as the best in the country for his dazzling performances in green and white since the beginning of the 2024/5 campaign.

The German ranks above all players in the country for overall attacking statistics with his 25 contributions.

And we can only imagine what he’ll be worth in future markets if his trajectory continues on the same path.
