Greg Taylor’s uncertain Celtic future has become a major talking point among supporters as he enters the final few months of his deal no closer to an agreement being found.
Recently, Scotland international Taylor has attracted interest from Dinamo Zagreb, but has made his intention clear to stay at Parkhead for the remainder of the campaign at the least.
On several occasions, Brendan Rodgers has reiterated his desire to tie his left-back to a new deal and talked up the importance of his presence within the group. However, the predicament has become an unwanted sideshow in an otherwise excellent season.

Last weekend, Rodgers defended Taylor after fans chanted Kieran Tierney’s name after the Bhoys overcame St Mirren due to links with the latter.
Having spoken to his player since, everything is ‘absolutely fine’, and he is in the running to make his 200th appearance for the club against Dundee United. Now, fresh information has emerged regarding the ballpark it would take for Celtic to retain one of their longest-serving faces.
The big wage Greg Taylor wants to stay at Celtic
According to Mailsport’s Stephen McGowan, Taylor reportedly ‘wants to earn’ £25,000 per week to sign on the dotted line at Celtic.
Similarly, the outlet claim Tierney’s potential return to the club could see him inherit a pay packet of £35,000 per week, albeit it remains to be seen how terms are ironed out in due time.
At home to St Mirren, Taylor played 90 minutes before rushing up the tunnel due to a nose problem that required swift treatment.
Despite speculation involving the 27-year-old, it appears that he will remain professional and available for selection between now and the end of the campaign with no issue.
Celtic need clarity on Greg Taylor’s contract situation
Truthfully, Celtic need a swift solution to Taylor’s future before his contract ends. It isn’t healthy for anyone to be in a state of limbo.
Retaining his services would be a brilliant piece of business from the club, but there may be a seed in the full-back’s mind that may want to try a new challenge after his years of consistent service.
Either way, the uncertainty surrounding his future is snowballing into a bigger deal than it needs to be, as seen last Sunday when Rodgers commented on the situation.
Hopefully, all parties can come to a solution that suits everyone involved as the Bhoys move forward with their squad-building priorities.
