Iconic Brazilian attacking midfielder Kaka told Hibernian new boy Christopher Mueller that Celtic Park was the best place he played in his career.

Mueller knows Kaka from his time as a winger at Orlando City and sought the advice of the AC Milan legend prior to signing up at Easter Road recently.

Speaking to BBC Sport Scotland, he said: “Just before I made my move over here I was speaking with Ricardo Kaka in Orlando just about my move because he was obviously following me, knowing me from Orlando.

“I was speaking with him at this event we were at and he was telling me that ‘Scotland, you’re going to love playing there.’

“Out of all the places that he’d played in his career, he said that Celtic Park in a Champions League night when he was at AC Milan, was the best place he had played just in terms of atmosphere.

“That says something if a guy like that is coming here and saying that. I’m thrilled, this is a dream come true for me to play in stadiums like this.”

Kaka played at Celtic Park on four occasions and came out victorious just once, scoring in a 3-0 victory. Two of the other matches ended in draws with Celtic famously winning in 2007 thanks to Scott McDonald.

The Ballon d’Or winner is not the only big name to have enjoyed Celtic Park over the years, but it’s brilliant to hear he is still telling people about his experiences in Glasgow.

Celtic Park on a big European night is truly a unique experience and clearly, it had a massive impact on Kaka. Given he achieved absolutely everything in the game, it’s high praise indeed.
