Celtic kits are seen all over the world.
The green and white Hoops aren’t shared by many clubs, making them instantly recognisable.
Brendan Rodgers took his Celtic team for a pre-season friendly against Sporting of Portugal earlier this year, in a rare clash of Hoops – Sporting wore black on the day.
The Celts have also faced Shamrock Rovers of Dublin, largely due to the clubs’ ties through principal shareholder Dermot Desmond.
Palmeiras, one of the biggest clubs in Brazil, usually play in all green – but they’ve adopted the Hoops with their new kit.
Palmeiras release new Celtic-inspired kit
November isn’t usually a time for kit launches, but with Brazil’s unique calendar, their season is nearing its end.
Palmeiras are locked in a title race with Flamengo, and will also face them in the upcoming final of the Copa Libertadores.

They released their new kit on Wednesday, and it’s quite something.
Fans are seemingly happy with it, but they haven’t missed the clear similarities to Celtic – some are calling it a rip-off.
There are definite differences though. The kit is predominantly green, more similarly to how Sporting jerseys are.
This hasn’t stopped fans on X describing it as ‘Celtic 2.0’.
Celtic have never played against Palmeiras, but they faced Brazilian opposition in a few friendlies in the late 20th century.
This included a 2-2 draw with Flamengo under Tommy Burns in 1994, and a 4-2 victory against Cruzeiro six years earlier.
Celtic connections to Brazil
A sensational story this summer saw Celtic academy graduate Mikey Johnston pursued by Flamengo – but the deal collapsed under incredible circumstances.
The link caused hysteria in Brazil, given that Johnston wasn’t even a nailed-on starter for West Brom. Brazilian pundits were phoning Robbie Keane live on TV to ask about him. It was quite something.
In the end, Flamengo reportedly pulled out of the deal in a decision apparently influenced by the fan reaction.
We’ll never know if that was truly the reason why the move never happened, but you have to feel for Johnston regardless.
