Brendan Rodgers’ brilliant response to a young fan about Celtic winning the Treble this season

Celtic dropped points for only the second time this season following their drab draw at Dundee United on Sunday.

There haven’t been many setbacks and it’s a very good sign as Brendan Rodgers embarks on his second season at Celtic of his second spell.

Rodgers won the double upon his return last summer and now fans are dreaming of going one better by winning the Treble.

It has been done before – by his predecessor, Ange Postecoglou – and, of course, by himself, in that unforgettable and dominant first spell at Parkhead.

Celtic’s League Cup final win over Rangers – trophy number 119 for the club, with no-one in Scotland winning more, is certainly a start and a sign that it’s more than realistic.

Brendan Rodgers tells young fan ‘you want to win everything’ at Celtic

With Christmas here, both Rodgers and Callum McGregor were interviewed by several young Celtic fans on Sky Sports (22/12/24 at 11:30 am).

A range of questions were asked, from ‘who is the most famous person on their phone’ to ‘what’s their favourite song’.

But, one young Celt asked about the Treble, with the manager’s response being spot on.

“Will Celtic win the Treble this season,” asked a young fan.

Rodgers responded: “That’s the plan. When you play or manage Celtic, you want to win everything. But what every supporter knows with this team, we will all do our very, very best and that’s all you can ever do.”

How many trophies has Rodgers won at Celtic?

Rodgers has won back the Celtic fans after the decision to leave in 2019 for Leicester City.

That call made him very unpopular and it has taken time for everything to heal, but now it’s back to business and wheeling in those trophies.

The Irishman has seen off Rangers manager after Rangers manager during his two spells – and with a nine-point lead at the top, you know another one will bite the dust sooner rather than later.
