Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock was not to be the title-winner the fans had hoped for but, there could be celebrations this afternoon.
Brendan Rodgers’ title party was delayed by a week after Celtic lost at St Johnstone last weekend. However, the champagne corks could still pop no later than 2pm this afternoon if Aberdeen beats Rangers up at Pittodrie.
Celtic battered Kilmarnock 5-1 in an afternoon of football that was befitting of a title party but at the very least, the Hoops have put the pressure back onto Rangers as the Ibrox club heads to a venue they have found tricky over the last few seasons.
Anything less than a win will deliver Celtic’s fourth title in a row, and Brendan Rodgers has revealed whether or not he will be glued to the TV to watch the outcome of the match.

Rodgers told the Daily Record, “I don’t know. I probably won’t (watch it), in all fairness. But it was important for us to do our job.
“We’ll see what the split brings and then take it from there. I think any time you get over the line, it is. I’m still frustrated it’s not today. If I’m honest. But we can’t do anything about that now.
“We’ve done everything we could do. And whenever and if it comes, we have to be ready for it. We’ve obviously got the Scottish Cup semi-final (against Saints), so we’re arriving to that in a great place.
“We can only do our job. If Aberdeen win, then brilliant. Whoever wins the league is always deserving champions.
“But what’s important for us is not just to win today, but in a style that this team has been in for most of the season. And that was an incredible reaction to last week.”
Rodgers proves once against that his full focus is, and always will be on Celtic and that anything Rangers do or are doing is just a sideshow.
When Celtic can win the title with one Rangers game left to play
Celtic found out their post-split schedule just last week when most fans thought that a title-party was still possible at Parkhead.
With the Scottish Cup next, Celtic supporters will need to wait just over ten days to find out who they will play and where.
With the first round of the post-split schedule to be played on the weekend of April 26/27, Celtic fans know that a celebration could possibly be planned for those two days.
With Rodgers still to face Rangers at Ibrox, the likelihood of the first fixture after the split being the Glasgow Derby looks slim but one thing is certain for Celtic supporters, there will be a party, it’s now just a matter of when.
