Brendan Rodgers is obviously enjoying being the focus of Celtic fan adulation again in recent weeks but insists as long as the support gets behind the players, that’s what matters most.
The Celtic fan song about Rodgers popularised during his first spell at the club has had loud airings on the terraces at Tynecastle and in Dingwall during recent away fixtures.
He’s warmly applauded those serenading him at the full-time whistle on both occasions. Today in his media conference, he was asked about what it all means to him.
Brendan Rodgers on Celtic fans singing his song
Rodgers said [Celtic FC]: “It’s great. Listen, I understood it was going to be different to when I first came in because of the hurt and everything that was here. But I always felt that time would hopefully resolve that. Hopefully I can show my commitment to being here. But I understood it, I totally understood it. Some people will never get over it; what happened when I was here the first time. That’s also the reality of it.
“The singing is great. Because I just think if you are a club and you are together as one then that unity really allows you to go forward. I know as a Celtic manager having that, the support and what it gives the team, that strength that you gain from that is very, very important.
“I’m blessed to work at a club where the support makes a genuine difference to the club and its performance. More times than not this season the team have performed well. It’s great for the team to have the backing. Of course, if it comes for the manager too then great but as long as the players get it, that is most important.”

It’s been made perfectly clear by a large section of the travelling support that Rodgers is more than welcome in Glasgow and that’s to the benefit of Celtic moving deeper into the season.
There are definitely tense relations between some fans and the club itself at the moment but as the manager alludes to, unity is far more powerful and beneficial to the Bhoys than division.
Hopefully we see more of it in the coming weeks on the back of encouraging Celtic wins.
