Brendan Rodgers is back in management for the first time since leaving Celtic.

Rodgers was appointed by Al Qadsiah, who currently play in the Saudi Pro League.

It is his first role since resigning as the Celtic manager, and the 52-year-old seems to be enjoying life there already, with Rodgers reserving plenty of praise for the Saudi culture.

While Celtic appear to be in freefall under Wilfried Nancy, Rodgers will also have high expectations and has been discussing the differences between his new club and the Hoops.

What do you make of Brendan Rodgers’ new job after leaving Celtic?

Al Qadsiah aren’t shy of cash, and their owners are wanting success sooner rather than later.

Big names like Champions League winner Nacho Fernandez and striker Mateo Retegui are among the options available.

That means the pressure is still the same for Rodgers, who wants to win the league title.

Speaking on the club’s official social media channels, he said: “The difference is it’s a new league, but whenever you go into a top team a lot of the challenges are the same.

“You have to break down teams that are sitting low on the pitch, Qadsiah now have a good reputation in the league so I think a lot of the challenges will be the same.”

If Celtic sacked Wilfried Nancy, which manager would you like to replace him?

When is Brendan Rodgers’ first game as Al Qadsiah manager?

Following a short break in the league calendar to accommodate for cup competitions, Rodgers will have to wait another week before taking to the touchline for the first time with his new club.

Currently sitting in fifth, Qadsiah will play Damac on 27 December, who occupy one of the three relegation spots in 16th.

That should be a winnable game for the 52-year-old while on that same day, Celtic take on Livingston.
