It hasn’t taken Brendan Rodgers too long to return to the dugout.

Rodgers left Celtic at the end of October after a falling out with the board, as everything was just going stale in Glasgow.

During that period, Rodgers was linked with Premier League jobs, but rather than return to England for his next managerial gig, he has opted to move to the Saudi Pro League.

On Tuesday morning, Rodgers was confirmed as Al Qadsiah’s new coach, and the Saudi club gave the champions of Scotland a mention.

Al Qadsiah praise Brendan Rodgers’ spell at Celtic

The Saudi club, who are sitting fifth in their league, started their statement on Al Qadsiah’s website by describing Rodgers as a ‘world-renowned coach.’

It also stated that Al Qadsiah’s move ‘reflects the club’s ambitious vision and its rapidly growing sporting project’, which includes moving into a new stadium.

Al Qadsiah added that Rodgers boasts an ‘impressive track record’, and it listed his success in the colours of Celtic.

It also added that Rodgers, who won four trophies during his second spell in charge of Celtic, is someone who is ‘widely known for his expertise in building competitive teams and developing players.’

The Saudi club mentioned that Rodgers ‘enjoyed two highly successful spells in Scotland’, as it listed the 11 trophies he won with Scotland’s most successful club.

Celtic hero John Kennedy, who left Parkhead after decades of service in various roles, has also joined Rodgers in the Middle East, along with Jack Lyons, Alvaro Gomez Rey, Antolin Martín, and Elliott Tyebo.
