Celtic fans will be excited to see what direction their side go down in the transfer market this summer following a frustrating couple of windows.
In the winter market period, only Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah arrived at Parkhead, with the former being acquired for a fee in the region of £3 million.
Nevertheless, Kuhn hasn’t been able to make a notable impact since swapping Rapid Vienna for Celtic, registering just one goal in his opening six appearances at the time of writing.
Conversely, Republic of Ireland international Idah has been a smash hit in Glasgow, racking up five strikes and one assist in seven outings following his deadline-day move from Norwich City on loan [Transfermarkt].
Reports earlier this year confirmed that the 23-year-old’s agreement does not include an option to buy, though there have been suggestions that he may be available in the summer for a fee in excess of £3 million.
Heading into a summer window where a substantial amount of squad surgery will be required, Brendan Rodgers has several decisions to make on individuals ahead of 2024/25.
Brendan Rodgers addresses Adam Idah’s future at Celtic
Should Idah continue to score at his current rate for Celtic, few supporters will remain unmoved by the possibility of the Irishman staying at Parkhead permanently.
Despite this, there is the elephant in the room that his agreement does not include a buyout stipulation, and it remains to be seen how complicated this could make future negotiations.

Rodgers has since spoken of being ‘excited’ by Idah’s future at Celtic; however, he has also acknowledged that this won’t be an easy endeavour to complete amid the reality that Norwich City have an element of control in this scenario.
He stated [Cited via Daily Record]: “I’m excited to work with him. He thrives on the pressure here and has a hunger to improve. So we’ll assess that at the end of the season. It’s not all in our hands.”
Adam Idah has exceeded expectations at Celtic so far
Few people would’ve imagined that Idah was the answer to our well-documented attacking problems this season.
However, he has shown his ability to thrive in big moments and his presence is arguably why Celtic are still in a title race.
Potential season-defining goals at Hibernian and Motherwell have cemented his status as a new-found Parkhead hero. On the flip side, his penalty miss at Heart of Midlothian has reminded us all that he isn’t the finished article.
Nevertheless, rarely do you find a player at Celtic who is at that level, and Idah’s potential could be worth taking a gamble on if Rodgers can agree a suitable fee with Norwich City for his signature.
