Adam Idah made headlines on deadline day after becoming Celtic’s only late window signing on a loan deal from Norwich City.

The 22-year-old will remain at Parkhead until the end of the season; however, there is no buyout stipulation present in his agreement.

Last weekend, Idah was given an opportunity to impress from the bench by Brendan Rodgers away to Aberdeen.

Repaying his faith, the Cork-born striker laid on a smart assist for Nicolas Kuhn to level the scoring in an eventual 1-1 draw at Pittodrie.

Next up, Celtic travel to face Hibernian at Easter Road, knowing that three points will be crucial to maintain their hopes of becoming Scottish Premiership champions for the third time in succession.

With Kyogo Furuhashi not firing on all cylinders, bringing Idah into the fold alongside the Japan international may be an alternative tactical switch Rodgers may be willing to contemplate.

Celtic find out fee they could have to pay for Adam Idah

As we all know, the problem in having a loanee with no option to buy is the fact their parent club gains leverage due to the lack of a fixed valuation present in negotiations.

Despite this, recent reports suggest that Idah could be well within the Hoops’ price range if he succeeds north of the border.

According to the Irish Daily Mirror (print edition, page 45), Celtic could land Idah for a fee in excess of £3 million in the summer.

Financially, Rodgers’ men would be more than capable of matching the price tag mentioned, though there will likely be moving parts involved in any permanent transfer.

Of course, Idah will need to convince Parkhead chiefs first that he is up to the task of being a reliable senior player in green and white.

Hopefully, he can follow up on an encouraging cameo against Aberdeen and continue to contribute efficiently over the rest of the season.
