Celtic have posted an interesting article revealing a nice touch from Brendan Rodgers towards the club’s visually impaired supporters.
The new Premiership season gets underway on Saturday and fans will flock from all over to be at Celtic Park.
Celtic host visually impaired fans at each and every home game and the Ross County match will be no different.
But many fellow supporters will not be aware of the work that goes on in the background at the club, so the Friday article was pretty enlightening. (Celtic)
While plenty of match-going fans enjoy reading the manager’s thoughts at the start of the programme, some are not as fortunate.
But it seems like current Hoops boss Rodgers has gone above and beyond by recording himself reading the notes and making them available to visually impaired attendees.
The club say that Rodgers was the first UK manager to deliver the service when he began it during his first spell at the club in 2016. They say that it has been “extremely popular” since.
The visually impaired group watch matches from the Main Stand at Celtic Park, are are fed special commentary of proceedings.
For those with limited or no sight, it must be amazing to be able to go along to matches and feel the atmosphere, and hear from the likes of Rodgers.
It’s a great move from our manager. Let’s hope the team send everyone home happy on Saturday.
